Sport Management Majors Help to Make a Wish Come True
Dr. Greg Sullivan and Dr. Teri Walter's Sport Marketing & Event Planning classes joined forces to plan a Faculty Basketball Game with proceeds to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation. This event provides a valuable service learning opportunity for our students and allows them to get practical experience and engage with the community while raising funds for a worthy charitable organization. In these courses students learn a variety of planning, organizing, marketing and leadership tactics that challenge students to apply the concepts they have learned in in their class in order to plan a real live event. This year they raised $6,000, which is the cost of making one child's wish come true. Kudos to all those who worked to make this happen and to those who gave money in support of the event.
